NEWSSFT Throw back to the last 3 months!
SFT has had an exciting first 3 months this year. We are happy to give you an insight.
In January, 22.01.-26.01.2024, the German Course “Introduction into Feed Milling Core Processes” took place and we welcomed 11 course participants from Swiss feed mills as well as some BUZ employees, who learned the basics of industrial feed production. This course focused on the core processes of the Feed Milling Industry: size reduction, mixing and compacting. Part of the course program was the obligatory SFT social event and a visit to the Kunz Kunath feed mill in Weinfelden on the last day.
The English Course “Machines and Process Technology for the Feed Milling Industry” started on February 5, 2024. The two-week course was attended by participants from Colombia, Oman, India, Australia and Morocco. The alternation between theory and practice is essential to deepen knowledge, better understand the process and implement it directly. The two visits to the feed mills (at Kunz Kunath, Weinfelden and UFA AG, St. Margrethen), which were conducted by our lecturer, Alex Ammann, gave the participants an insight into what these core processes can look like in ongoing production. The course was topped off with the SFT social event, ice stock throwing in St. Gallen, followed by dinner at the Freihof in Gossau.
The absolute highlight was the start of the English Diploma Course on February 26, 2024, with 16 participants from 6 different continents. The 1st block of the intensive course lasted 4 weeks and during this time the course participants achieved great things.
The participants were able to intensify and build on what they had learned in the preparatory course. In the subjects of Cleaning & Sieving, Bulk Materials, Aspiration, Size Reduction, Mixing, Electrical Engineering and Animal Nutrition, the theory was deepened both in the classroom and directly on the machines, where the participants were able to put what they learned directly into practice.
The participants took a total of 7 written exams during the 1st block. In the oral exams, they were able to call on the knowledge they had acquired in the subjects of Process Technology, Electrical Engineering and Animal Nutrition, which challenged the participants accordingly.
At the end of March, the first half of the diploma course was brought to a festive close with a typical Swiss cheese fondue. The course participants were allowed to swing the cooking spoon and review the exertions of these though 4 weeks.
In September 2024, it’s time for the final count down towards the Diploma Feed Production Engineer. We are delighted to accompany and support this great group on their way to their diploma.
The outlook for the coming months is very promising:
